A normal date difference counts every day. A working-day count removes Saturdays and Sundays so the result better matches business schedules.

Check whether endpoints count

Some workflows include the start and end date, while others count only days after the start. Read the result in context before using it for anything formal.

Public holidays are separate

A basic working-day calculator usually excludes weekends only. Bank holidays and local holidays may need to be subtracted separately.
